Why can't I download any documents?
- You must have a registered PatVault account and be logged in to download files. You can do so by using the black "Sign Up/In" button in the site header or by clicking HERE
I can't find a specific patent
- PatVault only covers the data range listed on our coverage page: HERE
- Occasionally, some patent numbers are withdrawn by the USPTO and may not be available. You can find a list of withdrawn patent numbers HERE
The Docx (Word) version of a patent is missing text. What’s up?
- Depending on complexity, Docx (Word) Documents generated by PatVault may be missing complex formulae or tables
- Much of the bibliographic data and the list of prior art is suppressed
Are the PDFs I receive from PatVault searchable?
- No -- PatVault collects PDFs from official USPTO data sources, which provides them in a non-searchable format
